StoryFest 2022

Saturday night, October 8th was the StoryFest 2022, our first in-person storytelling concert since 2019.

There were great performances from the tellers: Beverly Black, Jane Fink, Dave Keren, Lorelle Otis, Jennifer Otto and Rich Swanson. And Jane Fink was our masterful MC, weaving together the tellers and their stories.

Then on Sunday afternoon the Family Fun concert was held at the Pittsfield branch of the Ann Arbor District Library. The show was aimed at kids 4 and up, but was enjoyed by everyone who has an inner child. Tellers: Beverly Black, Darryl Mickens, Judy Schmidt and Kathleen Wright.

Thanks to all the Ann Arbor Storytellers’ Guild members who pitched in to make these entertaining programs happen.

Our StoryFest 2022 concert is now available to view on YouTube!

Comments from people who attended concerts:

  • “Had almost forgot now moving and entertaining in person storytelling could be.”
  • “I really enjoyed all the storytellers and their stories.  I could ‘see’ the experiences they were describing almost as if I were there.”
  • “It was nice to be able to go to a live StoryFest again.  Stories came alive!!!”

The Guild has produced more than 30 annual StoryFest concerts and we are delighted to offer interesting and enjoyable programs to the community. It is through our stories that we connect with each other and see how we are alike while also acknowledging the richness of our diversity.

Donations

Donations are much appreciated. StoryFest is the Ann Arbor Storytellers’ Guild’s biggest concert of the year. We use the proceeds from the concert to further our mission which is to promote, perpetuate, and celebrate the art of storytelling.
